Bursa Coffee
The name “Bursa” comes from a tree traditionally burned for its fragrance in Ethiopia’s Sidama region. As it burns, the wood releases a gentle aroma that is believed to bring comfort and a sense of healing. Inspired by this meaning, Bursa Coffee seeks to express the purity of nature and its distinctive aromas through every cup.
Behind the name is the determination of a coffee-producing family. Even when many farmers were giving up coffee cultivation, Mulugeta Muntasha, originally from Arbegona, remained committed to his farm. His son, Degefu Mulugeta, later joined him, combining traditional farming practices with modern systems and shifting their focus toward producing high-quality specialty coffee.
Their vision took shape with the establishment of Muntasha Station, also known as Bursa Main Station, in 2021. In the same year, their coffee placed 2nd in the Ethiopia Cup of Excellence, followed by 1st and 3rd place finishes in subsequent competitions. These achievements have made Muntasha Station a defining benchmark for the quality and potential of Bursa Coffee.
