Panama Mima Estate - Altieri

Mima Estate

The Altieri Family operates two farms in Boquete, Panama: Mima Estate in the highlands and Pipim Estate at a lower elevation. This coffee was produced at Mima Estate, located in Alto Quiel, an area known for its cool climate and favorable conditions for coffee cultivation.

Mima Estate is especially well known for its Geisha coffee. The family first planted Geisha seeds purchased directly from the Peterson Family of Hacienda La Esmeralda in 2007 and has continued to expand production ever since. Different Geisha plots, divided by elevation and terrain, are carefully managed and given family names such as Tom, Dilgo, and Chombi.

Founded by geneticist Eugene Altieri, the estate is now managed as a vertically integrated operation, overseeing every stage from cultivation and processing to quality control. Mima Estate is also equipped with dedicated facilities, including refrigerated drying chambers and humidity-controlled storage, allowing the team to manage each coffee with precision and consistency.
