ORIGIN STORY
La Noria — Where Loja Meets the Cup
High in the Andes of southern Ecuador, the Loja region is home to three farms — La Noria, El Dorado, and Eliza — that together form the foundation of CVM (ChocoVilcaMundo).
Since 2017, CVM has worked with a single, focused direction across these three estates. At its helm is Bernard Uhe, originally from Ibagué, Colombia, who approaches coffee with a defining question: not how much to produce, but how to express what the land has already given.
Of the three farms, La Noria sits highest — above 2,000 meters above sea level. Established by Tim Leahy in 2017, it has rapidly become one of Loja's most distinguished sites, claiming first place at the 2023 Cup of Excellence Ecuador with a Washed Geisha.

Anaerobic Washed 1×5
This Geisha Lot 2 comes from a newly developed plot at La Noria, planted at a higher elevation than the farm's original area.
The 1×5 process refers to a two-stage anaerobic fermentation totaling 144 hours: 1 day in cherry, then pulped and fermented for 5 more days in the honey stage — both under oxygen-limited conditions. The lot is then finished with a washing process that lifts and clarifies the cup, producing a structure that is defined and expressive without ever feeling excessive.
