Honduras El Laurel Parainema Washed
El Laurel Farm is a fourth-generation family-owned farm located in the village of Las Delicias, Danlí, in the El Paraíso department of Honduras. At approximately 1,400 meters above sea level, the farm’s fertile soils and gentle microclimate allow coffees with clean and balanced flavor profiles to develop.
Farm owner Oscar Ramírez Chávez began receiving quality-focused training at the age of 19, reorganizing cultivation practices to improve consistency and cup quality. In 2015, he introduced specialty microlots together with his father, marking a turning point for the farm.
Today, Parainema is the primary variety cultivated across 8.5 hectares of the farm’s total 12 hectares. Plums, avocados, and shade trees are planted alongside coffee to maintain ecological balance and biodiversity.
Through traditional washed processing and carefully controlled fermentation, the team aims to precisely express Parainema’s distinctive clarity and refined texture.
Oscar describes cultivating coffee on this land as “an expression of belief and gratitude.” El Laurel Farm continues to be recognized as a producer demonstrating new potential for Honduran coffee through ongoing learning and continuous improvement.
