ORIGIN STORY
Finca La Alquería
Located in Volcancito, Boquete, Panama, Finca La Alquería was established by José Porta in 2019. At approximately 1,460 meters above sea level, the farm grows coffee while preserving the surrounding forest, maintaining beehives, and protecting the biodiversity of its ecosystem. With minimal chemical intervention, the farm relies on biological and agronomic practices to pursue both coffee quality and long-term sustainability.
Finca La Alquería also participates in the Abbraccio Project. “Abbraccio,” meaning “embrace” in Italian, was initiated by Altieri Specialty Coffee to support small-scale producers in the surrounding area who may have limited access to processing facilities, quality control, and international markets. Altieri evaluates the coffees, works closely with producers throughout processing, and ensures quality and traceability before connecting these coffees with buyers around the world.
Pacamara Natural
This lot features Pacamara from Finca La Alquería. The lot code PN Alqueria 300126 represents Pacamara Natural, the producing farm, and the production date of January 30, 2026.
Fully ripe cherries are carefully harvested and dried whole, with the fruit left intact, using the Natural Process. Paired with Pacamara’s large bean size and naturally rich texture, this method develops deep fruit notes reminiscent of grape, blackcurrant, and dark plum, followed by a lingering sweetness of dates and brown sugar.
