ORIGIN STORY
La Bohemia
La Bohemia is located in San Pedro de Cartago, Nariño, Colombia, in the Andes Mountains near the Equator. Since 2012, the farm has focused on producing high quality specialty coffee with varieties such as Geisha, Yellow Bourbon, and Pink Bourbon.
The farm is operated on approximately 6 hectares, following organic and sustainable farming practices. Its dedication to quality has been recognized through the Geisha variety, which won 1st place at the 2022 Cup of Excellence Colombia, followed by 2nd to 5th place rankings in the same competition.
La Bohemia is located near La Jacoba, in a valley surrounded by deep canyons. Rich organic matter, stable sunlight, cool air flowing through the valley, and the influence of the Patía, Juanambú, and Mayo river systems create a complex and delicate aromatic profile.
PROCESS
Washed Geisha
Lot #007 is a washed Geisha coffee.
The cherries are carefully hand picked at optimal ripeness, then washed and sorted on the same day. The coffee is then pulped without the use of water, and undergoes 60 to 72 hours of fermentation in sealed tanks, where oxygen contact is minimized.
After fermentation, the mucilage is removed with clean water. The coffee is then slowly dried on a parabolic dryer for approximately 15 days, completing a clean and precise washed process.
