Gesha Village
This coffee comes from Oma Block, a 68-hectare section in the central part of the farm. With its stable climate, gentle slopes, and rich soil, Oma Block produces beautifully balanced coffees. Known for its vibrant florals, complex fruit notes, exceptional sweetness, and silky texture, coffees from this block have become a favorite among roasters year after year.
Gesha 1931
Gesha 1931 takes its name from the wild Gesha coffee first collected by British botanists in Ethiopia’s Gesha region in 1931. These plants later made their way to Central America, eventually becoming the foundation of the celebrated Geisha variety found in Panama today. At Gesha Village, Gesha 1931 is carefully selected and cultivated from wild coffee trees in the Gori Gesha forest for its close resemblance to Panama Geisha in both morphology and cup profile.
This coffee undergoes a Natural Process. Whole cherries are spread in thin layers on raised African beds and slowly dried for 18–30 days, with frequent turning throughout the day. Once the moisture content reaches approximately 11%, the coffee is rested and stabilized. This extended drying process preserves delicate florals reminiscent of jasmine and bergamot, while enhancing the sweetness of ripe berries and tropical fruit and creating a refined, silky texture in the cup.
